This Buddhist and Moral Education subject book is prepared based on the Learning Achievements of the Buddhist Religious and Moral Education subject which consists of three elements, namely History, Ritual and Ethics.

In line with the Pancasila values, the basic principles of the state are to become students of Pancasila who have noble character and global diversity, through efforts to promote and preserve culture, strengthen religious moderation, by exploring four holistic developments as a Buddhist education entity, including physical development (kāya-bhāvanā), moral development. and social (sīla-bhāvanā), mental development (citta-bhāvanā), and development of knowledge and wisdom (paññā -bhāvanā).

The learning in this book is packaged based on fun student activities and combines understanding of concepts to lead students towards mastering competency in attitudes, knowledge and skills. Learning is not only to know and remember (pariyatti), but also to carry out (patipatti), and achieve results (pativedha). “Study will increase knowledge, knowledge will increase wisdom, wisdom will know the goal, and knowing the goal will bring happiness.” (Theragatha: 141). "A person reads a lot of scriptures, but does not act according to the teachings, such a person is like a shepherd who counts other people's cows, he will not gain the benefits of a holy life." (Dh. 19).

From the learning results above, students are expected to have character that is based on the values ​​of Buddhist teachings which are integrated with the Pancasila Student Profile. One of the characteristics of success is that students are able to prepare themselves to become the young generation in facing challenges and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Superior human resources are lifelong students who have global competence and are able to behave in accordance with Pancasila values
