For students, mathematics is often considered an abstract, difficult and less relevant subject in life. In fact, many mathematical concepts and principles actually appear in nature and are close to everyday life. Our hope is that this book can guide teachers to become agents of changing misperceptions about mathematics by using a more contextual approach through real life problems and actively involving students in exploring with guiding questions.

Most of the mathematics lessons in student books are also attempted to attract the attention and interest of students so that they "don't feel like they are learning mathematics". This book will provide guidance for teachers in inviting students to think critically and creatively to develop high level thinking skills (HOTS). Apart from that, on many occasions teachers will also be given steps to implement discussion, communication, collaborative activities, and use technology to solve problems so that students hone their abilities in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile and 21st century skills.

In the general guide section of the book, teachers will also get a detailed explanation of curriculum changes, learning approaches, assessment systems, and other essential elements contained in the student book. It is hoped that this section can provide provisions for teachers when implementing learning approaches that are in accordance with student books.

We hope that this book can support teachers in implementing effective and contextual Class VII SMP/MTs mathematics learning, and that more and more students will start to enjoy mathematics and experience the benefits of learning mathematics.
