İlkay Gündoğan is a German footballer of Turkish origin who plays as a midfielder. Currently,
he plays for Barcelona, and for the German national team. Gündoğan was a central figure in
Dortmund's 2011–12 Bundesliga triumph. Normally a central midfielder, he is notable for his
passing game and technical quality.
On 26 March 2013, Gündoğan scored his first goal for Germany in a 4–1 win against the
Kazakh national football team at the Grundig-Stadion in Nuremberg. The game counted for
the World Cup qualifiers
