Description
The Federal Council of Medicine, CFM, is a body that has constitutional duties of supervision and regulation of medical practice. Created in 1951, its original jurisdiction was confined to the record of the medical professional and the sanctions of the Code of Medical Ethics.
Over the past 50 years, Brazil and the medical profession have changed a lot, and today, the powers and scope of the actions of this body are wider, beyond the application of the Code of Medical Ethics and the regulation of professional practice.
