Description

In accordance with its Statute, the Commission seeks to preserve wildlife on land and sea and its natural habitats; to restore the growth and prosperity of the degraded species and habitats in the Kingdom through:

Issuing protection legislation and proposing the establishment of protected areas.

Encourage and conduct scientific research in various fields of biology, especially those related to plants and animals living in natural environments.

Raise interest in environmental issues related to wildlife and try to find suitable solutions by holding meetings, seminars and local conferences for discussion by specialists in these areas.

Conduct a comprehensive survey of the current knowledge and findings of research on wildlife and natural habitats in Saudi Arabia, whether published in various local and international sources of information or not.

Develop and implement plans and projects aimed at preserving and developing natural habitats in their natural habitats by establishing protected areas for wildlife in the Kingdom and issuing regulations and instructions for those areas and applying them.

Cooperation with various ministries and national bodies, both governmental and non-governmental, as well as with individuals and bodies
