Description

Goat production is characterized at the national level for being a family-type activity, with low adoption of technology, with extensive management systems, taking advantage of resources that other species cannot, getting used to different adverse environments, generating important income in rural economies.

One of the main problems, both to establish public policies aimed at macro-structural improvements, and to carry out planning for intra-farm production improvements, is the lack of registered information.

At this point we will emphasize the following since the project idea is aimed at contributing to the solution of this problem. So that the goat producer in any part of the country can begin to walk the path of improving their herds, in the first instance they must know basic production parameters and indices to later analyze them and be able to implement improvement plans accordingly with the data obtained.

Technical advice directed towards the critical points of each production system is impossible if there is no minimum prior information on which to establish starting points.

The project consists of the creation of the first production record-taking application in goat farming, with a focus on meat production in the first instance. This program will make it possible to take a step forward in advisor-producer relations by greatly facilitating data collection in a friendly manner and with the inclusion of technological tools currently available to the common population.

On the other hand, it may also allow a more effective exchange of information and with less use of mobility and logistics resources, which currently represents a major stumbling block in technical assistance to producers.
